Another Collection Agency Experience

As an owner of a small business we have had the occasion to use a debt collector. We have only needed to collect on a few debts at this point and we chose to go with one with a lower cost.
This may not have been the best idea, but it seemed to fit our needs at the time.
The debt collection agency we chose uses an automated system to attempt collection. Unfortunately, with this method there is not always a guarantee that the person who owes the debt is the person being contacted, and it can be easy to ignore.
The percentage of people who actually pay seems to be lower than if an actual person had called and attempted to collect.
We did not know much about debt collection when we chose this company, but to protect ourselves we did make sure that they were bonded and insured and we had their fee schedule in writing, based on a percentage of the debt recovered.
We liked that they were upfront about it and we were never charged more. We primarily liked the price associated with this company and made our decision based on that.
The cons of the company we chose were that we did not know that there were many other services a debt collection agency could provide such as online account monitoring or skip tracing and what we did not know at the time was that they contracted many of their cases to a third party call center about which we do not have any information.
I found your website very helpful and it offered many solutions we will use in the future.
