Collection Agencies:
It Seems Like Everyone is in Debt

by Brittney
(Arkansas)

Collection agencies are annoying. I believe that the people on the other line do not understand how to do their job. They believe that harassing the debtor is going to make them pay faster.

Well, guess what? If I had the money, I wouldn't be here in the first place. Besides the government has bailed out so many credit card services I feel that I shouldn't even pay my debt back.

Especially when they go and give taxpayer's money to pay for the bonuses of CEO's. It seems since we have bailed out these credit card services they should give us a break too. Even if they lowered the interest rate, it would help. I mean, 29.9 percent interest is really high for credit card debt.

What is the most annoying thing about collection agencies is when they call you and they don't even know who they are collecting for. They can't even tell you the account number. What is bad is there are so many scams out trying to get you to pay for a debt that is not even yours!

When you ask for them send you a bill, they can't. They say you have to pay over the phone or send a money order to an out of state address. This is way so many debtors are not paying what they owe. It just seems like a worthless cause.
