Collection Agencies:
The Persistence Strongly Affecting The Innocent ...............

I have lived in my home for eight years. For eight years, collection agencies have been calling my house and sending collection letters to whomever lived here before me.
This person apparently had some credit / debt issues that have absolutely nothing to do with me ( or anyone in my family for that matter ). For eight years, my wife, my son, and I have been answering inconvenient phone calls at all hours and returning letters to the postman, all for this person's short- comings.
Countless times we have informed the collectors of this during phone calls we have received but all in vain I suppose. Will this matter haunt our address as long as we live here? Do collection agencies share information with each other?
It would be a relief if I did not have to share my address with this person. We do all that we can to pay our bills responsibly, but are constantly reminded that others do not by the phone calls and letters.
At some point while living at this same address, I received a call from a collection agency that tried to get me to walk to a nearby neighbor's home and inform him that they were trying reach him. Not only was the person on the phone rude, but they down right tried to talk me into doing their job. Not on my watch! Leave me alone when it comes to someone else's problems.
Thank you,
