Collection Agencies:
They Only Want To See You Have a Bad Credit Rating.

Collection agencies are very persistent when it comes to calling an individual whom owes them money. They will find a way to obtain your phone number from an generated computerized analog.
They will send out letters, phone calls and emails pertaining to ones debt. In my opinion, they don't give a person enough time to come up with the money. Sometimes the settlement that they offer someone is not feasible to their income. I believe that they only want to collect the money and that is all.
Some of these collection agencies don't really care about the consumer. They will then leave a bad rating on their credit rating. And this credit rating stays on a persons credit report for up to seven years. And even if the person pays their balance off, this debt can still stay on their credit report. I think that this is very unfair for the consumer.
If they have worked hard into paying this debt off, then at least the honorable thing would be to clear their credit with no additional charges. I have had many collection people call for me. But it is one thing to call me and then the call is for someone else. This happened to me.
The collection agency called for an woman. I constantly told them that they had the wrong number and they still continued to call my cell phone. I even went to the extreme to block the agency from calling my number, but it did no good at all. Most of them would leave persistent messages stating that they really needed to get into touch with this particular woman.
I found this to be very annoying. Collection agencies are supposed to be here to help the consumer, not to hurt them. But some of these agencies don't live up to their word and it is time that we stand up to be treated like consumers and not like criminals.
