Collection Agency Paranoia

by Michael
(Nampa, ID)

I am an average American that had some credit issues when I was younger and am at the point where almost everything negative in the past has been cleared up.

However, my past history with collection bureaus and their inability to understand that if I had the money to make the payments I would not be dealing with them, I still fear unknown numbers on my phone. Most people do not enjoy being in debt, nor do they like missing payments on their loans.

If collection agencies approached people with more understanding and fewer threats then I believe people would be able to cooperate with them. I have had people show up at work before demanding money as well as coming to my house early in the morning and late at night when my family is home and while I had the understanding that I owed the people coming around money they were the last ones to get it when I had excess to pay bills with because I was very unhappy with them.

Eventually when the people who were nearly stalking me stopped the constant harassment and became more amiable they received payment. I think that if collection agencies actually used a website like this to share their most effective debt collection techniques it would be easier for them to collect the money that they are owed.
