Credit Card Debt Collections Is a Rough Gig

I work at a well known bank, and as we all know the world of finance is in a financial mess. So people with bad loans, high mortgage rates, Crazy APRs, are all in the same boat, but what I notice a lot is this CREDIT CARD DEBT.
We have never seen the credit card debt collections department in this shape before. We are taking new strategies in the credit card debt collection field, such as contacting the customers with a different attitude, trying to lower their debt in a lump-sum payment plan.
We also added more debt collectors which in return will contact more people and bring in more revenue. What concerns me the most with credit card debt collecting is that America is in so much trouble financially that the customer just doesn't have the means of paying off their debt and still keep the lights on, pay the mortgage or feed the kids.
These issues concern me when our team has to make that phone call or send out that letter reminding the customer something they already know, but just can't seem to do anything at this moment. We all have jobs to do but we are all human, and I think the world is coming together closer in this time of need.
Credit card debt collecting will be around for a long time as long as people try to live like no one else is living so in return they can live like no one else has lived.
