Debt Collectors Facing
Increased Work As Economy Fails

I recently read a story about the need for debt collectors in today's society due to the overwhelming financial struggles that many of us are facing. The original article can be found here:

but to summarize, the author interviews a debt collector of 3 years and gains insights into what life is like at the other end of the line.
The debt collector notes that almost all people get angry when called, get emotional, or become apathetic. I have been thankful enough not to have any problems or run ins with debt collectors, but for those of you out there who are running up credit, be warned that the party doesn't last forever.
It is a necessity in today's times to make sure your credit card bills or other bills are being paid off consistently and on time. We all have enough to worry about today than to have to spend time on the phone trying to convince a stranger that we don't have the money to pay for something right now.
I feel bad for the debt collector, but I also know that we usually have a choice in the jobs that we take, and this particular debt collector must have surely known what he was getting himself into.
For now, I'm going to let my credit card still sit unused, only grabbing it for emergencies, and relax knowing I won't be hounded by a collection agency for the time being.
