My Collection Agency Opinions

I have had one collection agency try to get a hold of me and I did not appreciate their calls at all. First off they were very rude when asking who I was.
When you’re calling someone you should not ask who’s on the phone, maybe start off by asking for the person you’re looking for. After that, they had threatened me by telling me I need to pay them back right now.
They did not offer me any options or payment plans. All they wanted was my information to give to them so they could get their money. Collection agencies need to be understanding that hard times have arrived and we are in a recession.
I know they could have offered to make a payment plan and probably asked me politely if that was a better option than paying in full. I would have responded better to that than a threat. I don’t think anyone likes to be threatened.
I did, however, like that I continued to get updates on what was happening with my account. I liked that when the issue was resolved (because I did not actually owe them money, I had insurance) that I received an apology for all the inconvenience from the person who called and they did not call me back again.
