My Collection Agency Opinions

My mother lost her job a few years ago, and, being close to sixty years old in age, has only been able to find jobs for which she's extremely overqualified and underpaid since.
As a result, she owes money all over town(including to me--I paid for her to move from her apartment into a friend's house when she couldn't make rent anymore.)
Unfortunately, at some time in the past few years, I traded phone numbers with her, so now I get constant phone calls asking for Mary who all suspiciously refuse to tell me who they are, what they want, or where they're calling from.
Eventually they figured out my name, and one even called my roommate somehow. That really crossed the line: the fact that someone looking for money from my mom managed to find the phone number of one of my friends and connect it to me freaked me out and made me feel unsafe and angry.
I don't know what to do to get rid of these calls. My mom doesn't have any money and neither do I, and I'm not going to sell her out to the bill collectors. All I can do is screen my calls, and nobody wins.
