My Credit Card Debt Collection Nightmare

I can relate to the stories posted on this website about credit card debt. These stories hit so close to home for me. I'd like to share my story about my own debts.
Ever since I got my first credit card in 1991, I've been struggling with massive amounts of credit card debt. I got into a habit of paying off my bills, buying my groceries, and purchasing leisure items with my credit cards. Somehow the credit cards allowed me to live above my means.
Of course this came with a price. I was young and naive. I didn't think about my future. All I cared about was "now", which is why my credit card debt is so high.
The major problems started five years ago when the credit card debt collectors showed up at my doorstep. They told me I needed to begin paying NOW or they would take me to court on behalf of the credit card companies.
I was horrified. I had never thought of myself as being the sort of person who would go on trial. Even so, that is what faced me if I could not pay my debts.
Thankfully after I talked with my mom, she came up with a solution. I called up a bill consolidation service to try to get my credit card debt consolidated so that somehow I may be able to actually afford to pay my bill on time. Thankfully the people were very nice and seemed to fully understand my story and my needs. Everything is fine now.
