My Opinion of the Collection Agency Business

by Sharon Stafford
(Port St Lucie, FL)

I am going to tell you how exactly this is not going to get any better. I know you are trying to help but it won't. We are in a very bad state in this country and many people are losing jobs through no fault of their own.

The problem lies in the fact that you state collection agencies are needed to keep the economy going, but in reality there is no need for them because at this point companies can do their own collecting and cut out a third party adding more fees to the debtor that they can't afford.

We have to start understanding that there is no money to be gotten from these people and what they have they are spending on needs and not wants. People have had either medical problems such as my son getting cancer. Well let me tell you I can't even rent an apartment in low income housing without good credit.

What is that saying about how this country is run? There isn't anyone I know that says "Hey look at all this money I have. I think I will make people call me and beg me for it before I pay all my bills." The world doesn't work like that.

We all need to understand that when a business charges off money they are owed they get it back in being able to count that as a loss in taxes. Which in turn you the consumer still payed to begin with. Their abuse is not needed anytime or anywhere.

When they get the account not only is personal information going to people with out the permission of the debtor but they use that information to gather more information and no one is regulated by anyone.
