Open Season On Collecting Debt:
An "Interesting"
Debt Collection Strategy

You all know how hard is to get money from people that have it but don’t want to give it to you. These people generally don’t care if you haul them into court, or tear up their credit. This is because they make enough to pay for anything they want.
For those out there who notice that the economy is going downhill and everyone is trying to sell their house. Well for those who are professionals in the building trades industry, this way to collect debt is right up your ally.
See in some states, not paying a contractor for their services is well, illegal. Though, I know most of you don’t want to send someone to jail over a small debt. So I got one better.
First, go to the local records office for house deeds and put what’s known as a lien on their house. Since a lot of people are selling their house, they can’t until they pay you.
Second, is an interesting way I came up to deal these people. Some of you have a deal when you install/repair things to have the customer agree and sign off on putting a sign in the yard to get a few dollars off the job.
Well, most of the time you just say that and they sign the paper. So when they decide to not to pay you, place a signing saying this guy/girl is a dead beat and place how much they owe you. Since they signed this wavier for putting a sign in their yard it’s open season.
A lot of small towns will let you do as you wish as long as the information is true. Make sure that you have in your signed contract that the sign continues to belong to you. This is because if they take it down/ break it, you not only get to tack more money on them, they can also be fined for destruction of property, which can be a pretty high fine.
I have used this only in very rare cases where the person owes a lot and you can tell by the car in the driveway, this guy/girl isn’t broke. Most people pay pretty fast if it’s in a nice area. Check with a lawyer in your area to see if this is legal in your neck of the woods. So happy collecting your Debt
