There are various techniques that people use as debt recovery solutions for their businesses. I have found out a few of them through first hand experience in this field.

The most important of them is customer focus. It is very important for a debt collector to work with the customer. Only then the customer will work with you.

When you are asking for a payment to be made, it's obvious that the customer will not be happy about it. Here comes in the customer focus where you need to explain to the customer that becoming debt free will improve his credit scores which will in turn give him innumerable benefits.

Explain those benefits to him, such as ease in getting loans, etc. Most people only relate to things when they themselves are put in that situation. Explain how his stress levels regarding the unpaid delinquency will be wiped out.

Help him out with planning his finances so that he does not have to go through too much inconvenience while trying to pay off the debt. You need to be gentle and firm at the same time. Maintain regular follow up to make sure he has the goal in mind.
